The Hours Shelf is a small, independent website that answers one everyday question well: when is the Naperville Public Library open? We collect the library's published hours, closings and visitor rules into clear tables and plain-English explanations.

We are not library staff, we do not speak for the library and we cannot access library accounts, holds or room bookings. The library's own website, naperville-lib.org, and its phone line, 630-961-4100, are the authoritative sources for current information. Our logo and design are original and are not the library's branding.

Who writes this site

Every page is researched and written by The Hours Shelf Editorial Team. We do not publish invented author profiles, testimonials or reviews.

How we check facts

  1. Official source first. Hours, closings, addresses, phone numbers, fees and eligibility rules come from the Naperville Public Library's own pages, such as its Hours, Holidays, and Closings page and each location page.
  2. Cross-check. We compare the official figures with other listings (map and directory sites, local news). When they disagree, we follow the library and say so on the page if the difference matters.
  3. Leave out what we can't verify. If a detail isn't published by the library or a reliable local source, we don't guess. That's why, for example, we don't list 2027 closing dates until the library posts them.
  4. Date everything. Each page shows when it was last checked. The current figures were checked on November 3, 2026, and apply to 2026 unless a page says otherwise (nonresident card rates, for example, run June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027).

Editorial policy

  • We write original summaries and comparisons; we don't copy the library's text.
  • We link to the official page behind each fact in a Sources section at the bottom of every guide.
  • We correct errors promptly. If you spot something out of date, email contact@napervillepubliclibraryhours.shop.
  • The site may display advertising in the future. Advertisers have no say over our content, and ads will always be clearly separate from the guide itself.
